I have Poser 5, and made quite a few model purchases this week. I installed about 20 of them last night, and now my Poser is pretty much unusable. I have bought over 100 models from this site, and had a lot installed prior to this and had no issues. Now loading Poser takes over 5 minutes (no exxageration) and the CPU pegs at 100% or 50% if I have hyperthreading on. Once loaded, dropping a basic V3 onto my workspace takes from 4 - 7 minutes. Adding a very basic texture to her (I tried everything from full body Bree, to lipstick, to eye makeup) and this pegs the CPU for another 7+ minutes. I tried deleting my libraryprefs.xml but that only made the initial load go faster.... until I restarted then it was back to slow again. Do I need to reinstall? Reloading all of my models could take quite some time. Brendan

If you install Poser to a different folder (like zzPoser backup), you can then copy over just the actual program files...(everything outside of the runtime). You get the benefit of a new reinstall, without the hassle of reloading all your models (be sure to also install the update patch to this separate install). Also try running Correct Reference first, as Poser may just be looking for all those new textures. SWAMP

Hyper-threading really is an effort to fool your computer into thinking you have more than one CPU. Hyper-threading is useless to Poser. Poser will only recognize half of what you actually have. With that in mind, I don't want a hyper-threading computer.

Without being too simplistic, have you installed the version 4 update for Poser 5. Before all the updates it was slow to load etc. If you have done the updates then I'm stuck for you, mine works just fine but then I never had Poser 4 or pro pack so what do I know!
