Hi Jerry, I appreciate your taking your time to post this valuable info for all of us merchants. I am one of the merchants who was not aware of the actual format of the emails. Thank you so much. I am not sure if anyone has told you but the link to your thread here has been posted in the merchant forum. cheerio lululee
Dear Jerry, Thanks for the kind message and important information about the mail system. I personally use the IM system for giving the gifts or bonuses but for product updates I use the email system. It is very nice of you to inform us about the format the mails are sent. Best regards, Umut B. Aydin (umutov)

Hi Today I got a thank you gift from a merchant here. It was accessed by a link in an Email I received. I'm guessing it was sent via some kind of a Renderosity Merchant Email-to-customer convenience service that Renderosity provides to their Merchants, as it had this boilerplate text at the bottom; "If you do not want to receive this email promotion in the future, point your browser to: http://www.renderosity.com and update your profile under the 'My Profile' link on the sidebar." The gift (an add-on prop for a scene) was quite wonderful. This was very kind and generous. I am truly grateful. BUT - - - The problem with this is that merchants appear not to know that when they do this, the "From" of the Email is the merchants Email Account, not their UserName or Vendor Name in the RMP. As an example; today I got an email from a (I'm changing all the specifics, btw, so I'm not picking on any single vendor) Zoe34232@europeansite.Fr with a Subject line of "free VCR" and a brief unsigned note saying that I could get a free thank-you gift for buying something called "MLR" simply by clicking on a link provided. I didn't happen to remember buying anything called "MLR" online recently (It happens it was a couple weeks back, and it was called "McGuffey's Living Room" by SwiftyStuff&3D), and since the note was also unsigned, I was about to delete it as another spam trying to sucker the unwary into clicking into a porn, or spyware-infested site, when I happened to scroll down and see the word Renderosity in the boilerplate blurb at the bottom. Please - please - please Pass this on to vendors via the Merchants Forum, or whatever means might be most effective. My request is - Please include the Vendor's name, and a reference to the Renderosity MarketPlace in the SUBJECT LINE of any such Emails - Also signature line mentioning the merchant's name, website, products, or such wouldn't be amiss. I've actually gotten 8-10 such "anonymous" gifts and thank yous in the past year that I know of. Sometimes I've been able to puzzle out who they're from, sometimes not. No idea how many I've deleted without knowing. I would prefer to know who to thank. I'm sure that merchants would like to receive credit for their generosity. Unless Renderosity modifies the merchants Email option to show Renderosity and the Merchants name as the From in the Emails, that's the best recommendation I can think of. I think most Merchants assume their ID is auto-inserted by the Email routine. But it's not. Just a heads-up. Cheers - and Thank You Jerry B leather-guy
