Many thanks to SydneyKeys for assisting in the development and field testing of this new weapon for the **Dystopian Drone Trooper**. Different load outs for the magazine are still being considered, but the compartmentalized ammunition drum and the selector mechanism allow up to three types of rocket propelled munitions (RPM's or *"rip 'em's"*). Under development are the flechette round, high explosive round and the armor piercing sabot round. Poser availability for this new weapon to be announced. Cheers! M

now if you could have those fire bursts and the resulting explosions included...we would be forever greatful... speaking of that....there was a program that was given away on a mag...particle illusion, or some such that is for animation, but can do the stills as well...would be worth looking for. ah..here's the link :)

One of these days, I going to install my copy, generate a bunch of particle animations, and then try them out in Poser 5 with a movie node and transparency. Why should JPeter have all the fun?

Oooo... I hadn't thought of creating muzzle flash and impact explosions... lemme see what I can't cook up with stonemason to add on to this particular set of weapons. Thank you for the suggestion. I'm currently working on a "beam" weapon, but I'm a bit lost as far as the technical aspects are concerned so visualizing it is a bit frustrating. I hope to have something to show by the end of the week. There are also several other pieces of hardware I am planning to bundle into this kit. I'm also trying to persuade stonemason to take on a new texture for the Dystopian Drone Trooper to include with this additional gear. While the pack is still open... any suggestions? Cheers! M

How about a vertical single stack ammo magazine for situations that the triangular shaped magazine is awkward. How about a 'scope. Infrared attachment for night vision, with goggles for the trooper. Textures of ripped metal, bullet holes, scorch areas, exposed interior, etc.,for both weapon and trooper. Maybe a set of decal "battle" textures that could be applied "as needed" A Wood or Plastic solid stock. I'll second the muzzel flash and impact explosions, you guys could do a fantastic package. Beam weapons...yes! Maybe a string of ejecting ammo casings? How about a Tripod mount? Maybe a mount permitting attaching to other equiptment/vehicles.

Beam weapons powered by liqid magnetic jell, incased in a rectangular battery, placed in the top of the fixed shoulder stock....for proper seating, they would probably be heavier than that average magazine. Or somthing like that ;^) Do the DT's have anything that is Non-Lethal? What about Assault shields? Stun batons "Sick sticks" ....etc. A plain old fasion (variable yeild) grenade. A tool kit ......for those bad days, and a "patched" (bobbed when he should have weaved) body texture ............hey, you asked ;^)

Philywebrider Great suggestions! Before I respond to your ideas though I would like to take you behind-the-scenes in the conceptualization of "Dystopia" as a culture/civilization. It is all geared towards consumption... mass production, consumption and taxation. Why design and manufacture one multi-function tool, when you can create multiple tools and increase produce, purchase and profit? Why create a single type of round that will fit into various types of weapons, when you can create specific munitions for each type of weapon? Forget about efficient... think about quotas. :o) Think of the Drone Trooper as a power tool... while he is pretty versatile, his functions are limited to the "bits" (read as "weapons") attached to him. Why have several types of weapons for each single Drone Trooper when you can deploy Drone Troopers in the hundreds of thousands? Just sprinkle a nice mix of the different weapons in that mass and chances are you'll have the right Drone Trooper with the right weapon. :o)- "vertical single stack ammo magazine" would be addressed by a new weapon entirely

  • "a 'scope... infrared attachment for night vision, with goggles for the trooper" might do those, but the Drone Trooper's targeting monocle does make those a bit redundant... I guess those could enhance the targeting system even further.
  • "Textures of..." where is stonemason when you need him? :oP I'll leave that bit in his more than capable hands.
  • "...a set of decal "battle" textures..." I'll post a sample of some of the decals I've designed for the Dystopian military industry. Instead of applying decals to designate units, each of these insignias are actually manufacturer stamps that refer to the home world factory where that particular Drone Trooper (or something else) was made. So it won't be unusual to have a DT unit with several troopers coming from all different home worlds.
  • "solid stock" not too feasible... the piston style stock is really there to function as a shock absorber to help with recoil. This design feature was taken under advisement of our resident Weapons Master. :o)
  • "... ejecting ammo casings..." not so for a rocket propelled munition coming out of a closed breach weapon.
  • "tripod mount... attaching to other equipment/vehicles" most likely another weapon entirely would be used.

SydneyKeys Thanks for the config input on the beam weapon. :o) I'll pull some polygons together and show you something soon. "Do the DT's have anything that is Non-Lethal?" Bah! Mind readers and telepaths... :oP Yes, stonemason and I are already creating a special texture/equipment pack for the Dystopian Constabulary Trooper. We were hoping to keep this one quiet... too late. It will have variable setting force field riot shields, stun batons/polearms, non-invasive hand scanners, non-lethal munitions weapons (like the neural pulse cannon - same basic principle as an electromagnetic pulse, but it jolts neurons and shocks synapses generally causing folks to simply pass out). Yes, you will get to field test that one too. :o) Need your input on what kind of a power cell is needed for that toy. Thanks for the feedback. I must confess that I thoroughly enjoy getting input from highly critical and very supportive folks. :o) Cheers! M shhhh... it's only a model.

"Textures of ripped metal, bullet holes, scorch areas, exposed interior, etc.,for both weapon and trooper. Maybe a set of decal "battle" textures that could be applied "as needed" A Wood or Plastic solid stock." will take all that onboard Philly :)..alot of the Decals Moe's been making will be applied to the insignia portion of the Troopers chest via MAT's. I want to texture this weapon pretty close to how Moe has it in the renders above..with the 'Moebius Arms' motif applied. "It will have variable setting force field riot shields, stun batons/polearms, non-invasive hand scanners, non-lethal munitions weapons (like the neural pulse cannon - same basic principle as an electromagnetic pulse, but it jolts neurons and shocks synapses generally causing folks to simply pass out) " great stuff Moe..send it all over as soon as its done :) Dave-So ..cheers for the link..I'm trying to decide whether I shuld buy that app now..looks like fun :)
