Models are not the issue when drawing the line in the sand which seperates posting in Bryce gallery or other galleries. If the image has been obscured by postwork(in a 2D editor) to the extent that you're not sure it was rendered in bryce, then it's on its way to another header. Models?... Sculpt away!! p.s. I'm one of those that pushes the postwork limits, but I'm fair!! I'm Fair!! LOL

Well a poser-model rendered in Bryce is technical speaking still Bryce, afteral you used the render-engine (and for good reason). But since this is a model that you can't do within Bryce itself i have a hard time calling it a Bryce work. Just be fair about it.

Hmmm... seems to me, if its rendered in Bryce it qualifies for the Bryce Gallery. And if you postworked it in PS, put it in the PS gallery. Wings models? Hmm.... is there a Wings gallery? ;)
Personally I'm confused as what difference it makes. Aren't we all artists, and isn't Bryce, for all it's coolness, really just another tool for creating our art?
Heresy!

Mivan: Seriously, we're pretty open mined here when it comes to modelling. If you can get into Bryce it belongs to Bryce.

"Seriously, we're pretty open mined here when it comes to modelling" Yep, we all feeled open mined after we've seen some of the models coming out of various programs :)

sure there's a Wings gallery, we just named it 'Bryce' to throw off the Inquisition..;) As long as Bryce is the destination, and not just the source, you should be fine..even if not, you should be fine. Heck, I once posted a pic with 15 different packages used in it in the Bryce forum..no problems..;)

i apologize for being curious....
i am under the impression that 3d studio max is a much more powerful (would it be wrong to say superior?!?) program. im just wondering why someone who has 3d studio max would want to render in bryce?!? a 7400 program to render in a 75 program... that must lead to some curiousity for some im sure...
or is bryce just that "good"?!?
There are 3 kinds of people in the
world. Those that can count, and those that can't..
@ matcreator, personally I do a lot of work in Max, modelling, animating, all sorts, but there is something about Bryce that drags me back - don't know why. I use an old version of Max (3.1) so some things such as atmosphereics I find harder to set up in Max but that may not be reason enough (BTW I also use Bryce exports in Max... so I guess it comes down to what mood I'm in.....) I post an image in the gallery of the tool I did the most work in.....

Are there any rules or regulations that spell out what type of image may be uploaded to the bryce galleries as to amount of content from other programs? In other words if I model a scene exclusively with objects created in Max, but rendered in Bryce, does it still qualify for the Bryce gallery? Thanks Mike
