Hey all, First off, thanks for all the help you've given me in my quest to find a substitute for max. I'm liking Vue more each day, but still have some questions. I rendered out the image above and really liked it. I saved it as a tiff, but an alpha was not included. I see that there are two other images rendered, an alpha and depth. I assume you have to save these seperately. Am I correct? Also, The alpha includes the ground plane. If I wanted to remove that, is there any way to do so? I tried removing the ground plane, but that changed the lighting as the abient light then came from below too. I want to keep the existing lighting, but not have the ground plane rendered in the alpha. How do I do that? Oh,yeah, and cameras. Can I only have one, or is there a way to add another> Thanks Dragontales ps - what is the depth render used for?

alpha/depth: yep you click on the colored/alpha or depth image and then choose save. alpha ground plane: just pick render selected objects, that will remove everything that you havent selected including the groundplane from the alpha version but keep the groundplane when rendering so you get the correct ligtning. You can also put the stuff you want to render in a layer on its own and pick render active or visible layers. cameras: you can create more cameras, check the manage camera options.

Lol. I think there is always more we can learn about a program. I've decided to go and plunk down the cash for Vue 5. I ordered it last night so Hopefully It will be here within a week. Glad to part of the Vue community. Many thanks for all the help given to me so far. I'm sure I'll be asking for more. :) Dragontales
