Well last week I picked up a new computer. When new games come out that list your computer as barely useable you know you have to upgrade :) I went from a k62 400 and 16meg pci tnt card to a athlon t-bird 900 and a 32 meg geforce 2 256mx agp vid card. Ahhhh what a difference!! I installed Carrara at work on a pIII 500 and was only mildly impressed, but this is awesome!!! The above pic had no boleen errors (I did 3 of them on the cup)and it rendered smoke fast!! I did a render of fog like the above pic at work and it took 7 min..this one with everything maxed out did it in 2.5 min...its Christmas early for me! I had a cool ideal for a countdown for my video work but was not ever going to do it b/c of the downtime it would cause my computer...well no more :) BTW: I am guessing you need to have a 1.8ghz machine before the windows in carrara's interface scroll smoothly when you move them...anyone else concur?
