The christmas tree in Daz's Redhouse Christmas when exported from Poser will virtually lock up Vue. Here is the solution I found to load the tree in comfortably.
First, before importing it, shut off the Auto Update in the preview window. The tree will stall heavily in render from the standard import, taking several moments to respond if it all (including the preview).
Second, go to the 3rd Material which is Tree_pines and go into the material dialog and turn the reflectivity to 0%.
Then the tree should work fine in your renders. Once you have turned down the reflectivity, you can turn back on the Auto Update. Add a couple of point lights and you got yourself a pretty good looking tree. It still may render a bit slowly, so you may want to experiment with some of the other material reflective properties.
Anyway, a couple of people had mentioned that they were fighting with it, when they saw I used it in my christmas card post, so I thought I'd share how I worked around it.
Happy Holidays...
