Here is an image of a soldier character done entirely in c4's vm and used carrara's uv editor as well.I posted a model of a head wip in the gallery here and this is the completed character. I have fixed several things to the character since this image(longer legs, made pants more crumpled) This soldier is going to be placed into a larger scene that I am doing for CGtalksspace opera contest.I still don't know how I am going to position him , he is supposed to be in the foreground on the balcony. The link shows my thread at the contest forum if you are interested. Any comments or crits welcome. Mike

Nice work Mike, SF images take a lot of imagination which you've demonstrated nicely here in your linked image. I like what you did with the clouds too.

Good work Mike, i'm glad to see the final soldier. I see some strange things in the hands (especially the position of the fingers) and maybe the legs are too rigid. But is a good work! -TOXE

Nice model! Do I smell a character creation tutorial on the way?

This looks great Mike! The only suggestion I will add is that when you pose the figure a person's weight is rarely on both legs equally. With him leaning on a balcony rail he might have pretty much all his weight on one leg, the other bent with the toe on the ground, that sort of thing. Great image at CGTalk! Good luck! Mark

Thanks for the comments, Toxe, I found the hands to be very tough to do,hopefully when I pose him I can make the hands and character look more natural looking . Tkane, a character creation tut would be hard to do ,maybe a simple character would work. Faclconperigot, thanks for the advice,I think I will need more when I try to pose him, I want to see the front of the character( didn't do much texturing to the back of him)and have his head turned looking towards the scene.
