Hi to all ...

I notived a strange thing on my Computer ... hope really that you can help me!

I never had this thing before ... I don't know where it comes from. Last time I installed PS once again ... and the Smudge Tool was not doing any more ... I've put a picture that you see what happens ...

Does anyone of you how to solve this that Smudge will work on transparent areas again? This is not normal, no? Smudge is only doing with white backgrounds and active "Use All Layers" which is absolutely not nice in Digital Paint ...

Thank you so much!!!!! Ahh, I forgot that - Version: PS6, WinXP ... and before that, I had Win2000 and Smudge works with transparent areas, it looks as in the left pic

Check the mode on the tool. Do you have it set to darken? That might be it.

what other dynamics do you have set? if you have "Finger Painting" selected it will start to smudge using the foreground color at the beginning of each stroke...

No Finger Painting and no Darken mode ... mode was normal

Hmmm. Almost looks like you've got something in your "layer styles" set... Maybe you have an "Outer Glow"? Doubleclick on your layer thumbnail and see if you have anything set.
