Hello everybody.I just wanted to let you know I am going to be gone for the next 4 to 5 months, as I have joined the army.I'll be in basic training til late march mid april.Dont worry too much though, I am being trained for a unit called 25M( which is a 5 year minnimum of being a multimedia illustrator).I wont be frontline or anything. But I will have lots of new paid art training(both 2d and 3d).So happy holidays....easter, and the whole fun times well wishing.I'll be here for a few weeks, but then I'm shipping out.I hope Bryce 5.5 will be ready when I'm done with basic so that should be something to look forward to.Here is a pic from my latest project(unfortunately not bryce...sorry).I'll miss all the fun here, but "I'll be back"(best arnie impression).^_^

Sounds like a plan to me, always get the government to pay for your training, especially CGI, if you can...we'll wait with baited breath until your return...=)

Great Opportunity, although your favorite tool for awhile is going to be your best buddy, clean & hug it every day. Only then can you trade it in for a hot workstation. Good Luck TB Stay in touch ICM Rod

Uh... You do know they can put you anywhere they want to once you're in? People who shoot guns for a living seem to think that fellows who draw could also be good filling out forms for the civil affairs office. After all, its just guys with paper. Still, if you have skills they won't put you directly in infantry. Good luck and learn all you can. Now would be a good time to find out if the army has the same discounts as Universities on software. Can you say Maya for $600?

GROINGRINDER ( ) posted Wed, 22 December 2004 at 10:19 AM

Don't forget to be all you can 3d. But seriously, good luck on your mission. It sounds like it will directly carry over to your personal time and later civillian life as well.
