So why a website called The Poser Encyclopoedia?I've got a lot of Poser models. Figures, characters, morphs, MAT poses, lights, props, etc. A lot. Over 25GB worth in a separate Runtime library to be precise, and it's damn near next to impossible to find anything the way Poser is laid out.
Some props are figures, for example. The organization of the Poser Library definitely leaves something to be desired!
What clothes go with Victoria 3? Which one's are compatible with Stephanie, or Aiko?
The list is endless.
Chances are though, I bet others are in the same boat.
Sure, I've tried my best to re-categorize my special "3rd-Party" Runtime library, and group all of Michael's clothes under a single Michael folder (and sub-folder), but what to do with items that are also compatible with David? Or Luke? Or The Freak?
So I had a brainstorm -- actually this was initially suggested to me by a friend -- of creating a website which linked everything together.
Searching Daz and Renderosity sometimes helps, but those are all eCommerce sites, and their searching leaves a lot to be desired.
What if I just simply wanted a rose vase? Where to search? There are several hundred commercial and community Poser sites out there!
Aaargh!
So, this site was born, and as a WiKi.
The reason is quite simple. I've used the Wikipedia before, and it offers a very logical and organized fashion for grouping articles into subjects into categories.
I felt something like that was needed for the Poser community as well.
I hope you agree.
The Poser Encyclopoedia will always be "under construction," as new visitors edit pages, upload content, and make it the best that it can be.
