Muy question is about the photoshop 8 edition , and my question is this. Photoshop 8 is released because I don't know.

..but it doesn't have the designation of Photoshop 8. Adobe released the new version under the name "Creative Suite." It's been out for about a year.

A good year - most people are betting on CS2 being announced pretty soon, so you might want to wait until it is, then buy CS to take advantage of the free (bar shipping usually) upgrade after the announcement without being stuck with only CS2 if it's buggy.
