Subject: Keyframe animating P5 dynamic hair (?)

Dynamic hair helps provide exceptional realistic movement in animation (that much is a given), but more times than not it's rather difficult to get it to do "exactly" what you need. While working on an animtion today, I needed to achieve a specific result in how the hair reacted in the scene. Experimenting endlessly with parameter dials in the hair room yielded fair results, but it had occured to me that I could easily and convincingly get what I needed by simply keyframe animating a particular hair group that was not doing what I wanted during the simulation. I tried manually shaping the splines using the styling tools, but the progressive results were seemingly not able to be recorded on the timeline (keyframed). Is there a way to somehow keyframe animate the splines of certain hair groups in the hair room, while letting others run by simulation? More specifically, is there a way to keyframe animate the dynamic hair AT ALL in Poser? Anyone know? Of course, the obvious alternative is just to animate a hair figure/prop, but I need the strand-based dynamics to achieve the level of realism I'm looking for with this project.

Try using keyframed magnets to animate the hair.

And I just tried, you can also have morph targets on dynamic hair :)

marking. i want to listen to THIS conversation.

"And I just tried, you can also have morph targets on dynamic hair :)" Hi, guys. I just woke up here. Stewer, how do morph targets work on dynamic hair? What I mean to say is, normal morph targets are basically geometry alterations to an object. How do you save the dynamic hair as a morph when it can't be saved as geometry (for the most part)? I'm not fully awake yet, so I'm probably missing something really obvious. ;-) The magnet idea is a good one, although I was hoping to be able to use the "styling tools" in the hair room to manipulate the shape on the "vertex" level, but that will work too I guess. So again, about the morph targets... ?

Quite simple: Shape the hair with the syling tools, then export the hair prop as OBJ with everything unchecked except "as morph target". Then click "grow guite hairs" again, select the hair as current actor in the parameter palette and load the obj file with Object/load morph target.

tag I haven't even successfully animated my own walk cycle yet, but hey... :)
