Subject: Vue 5 locking up during rendering

Hi. I'm new to vue and have been trying to rendered a p5 pz3 in Vue 5 esprit, but it consistantly locks up the whole machine at when rendering at final quality or above. All new patches are applied. It may be a coincidence but this seems to occur when the figured face is about to render. Ive an Athlon xp 3000+ , 2Gig Ram, ATI X800pro 256Meg, 120 gig hd. Any ideas, Im quite lost Chris

Are you getting any type of error messages as in Out of Memory or is it just locking up? Make sure you have NO other programs running ie/internet browsing/chat programs/anti-virus etc...things of this nature to start with. How mnay polys are in your scene? How many PZ'3's? Save often! V5 is still in it's infancy and memory problems are a known issue. You can try, I as I was wisely told.....when you using Poser peeps, delete body parts that are hidden by clothes, this lowers the poly count. Import 1 Poser item at a time & save back to Vue as a .vob(native Vue object). If the characters are at a distance don't use a high end texture mat as it won't really be seen. Hope this helps :) Oh....and please report any of these issues to E-ON and upload your scene you are having problems with to technical support...that's the only way these issues will come to pass :)

Found it works if i render to a seperate window, but not in the main window. Otrherwise it just comletely locks the machine and I have to do a hard reboot the machine!
