Subject: Newbie question: Switching off Open GL in Vue 5 demo

attileus ( ) posted Tue, 18 January 2005 at 5:36 AM ยท edited Tue, 30 July 2024 at 6:50 AM

I downloaded the V5 Pro demo and started to explore the software but it's extremely slow on my 2 Ghz/512 Mb ram/ 32Mb Video computer. I would like to see the meshes without OpenGl but can't find any button to switch it off; any suggestion on this? I also wonder if it's true that you can export trees and plants from V4 Pro in 3DS/DXF format? Regards Attila

I assume you mean the Vue 4 Pro demo. Go to the preferences, display options. There you can select/deselect the OpenGL features. Yes, you can export trees and plants from V4 Pro in 3DS format (DXF i am not sure of). As long as the original creator has not switched this off - copyright reasons.

Thanks Wabe, it's IS the Vue 5 demo; after a few more clickings I've found the solution ("Options" -> "Display setting") - thanks again! Hm, it's cool that you can export those excellent plants from Vue 4. Regards Attila

Exports are only possible in the Pro line, not the Esprit one - don't mix that up! Good that you found the OpenGL switch! And good luck with the demo, i hope you enjoy it!
