Hi folks, I've been getting the urge to play again with xfrog. It's pretty fun, but I just am NOT good at creating textures. Is anyone interested in working together to create some plants? Here is an example of a ferny thing I see in the grocery store all the time (one day, I'll actually pick one up:) It's just a plain ol' p4 render (p5 has a hard time with these plants, thanks to the 1 sided poly thing, or something) It should be easy to texture....if you have 2d skills, or decent images to start with, but I don't have anything at hand for this type of thing. Also, if anyone is interested in hosting them, I have a few that I'd be willing to put up for free (some even have textures:) eric

Here is another plant and some garden stuff I had started quite some time ago. You can see that UV mapping is still a work in progress:) The stone textures are compliments of DNA, but the models are my own. The schefflera is textured using just a noise map for the bark and probably just a little coloration on the leaves (no map). We have several of these at work, so I'll be stealing a leaf for the texture, but if anyone is interested in texturing the bark, I'd love to collaborate. I'd even be willing to try some requests in exchange (no promises, since I'm not particularly good at this stuff!) eric

One more, showing a baby bamboo and more abysmal UVmapping on stones:P

OK, I'll shut up now.

As before, the stone texture is DNA, the rest is me (which means there really isn't any texture:P). eric

It's late. I'm tired. I thought, at first glance, that this thread was entitled 'Help Texturing Vegetarian." Just thought I'd share. mamba-negra, your project is looking GREAT. What a lovely little garden you have started! I'm glad I peeked into this thread (and that it wasn't about texturing vegetarians). bonni

Odds are I can ret those stones fixed mapping wise and at least give you some ideas for texturing that might not have occured to you before using xfrog. Otherwise I think you are doing rather well, actually.

Hey, Fitzy & Ynsaen. I sent a message your way! I'm not sure what texturing a vegetarian would require other than a nice desaturation filter (JK, my wife was a vegetarian when we first dated) Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully the first few will be up at Planit3d soon enough. eric
