Poser Python Scripting F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 05 6:41 am)

We now have a ProPack Section in the Poser FreeStuff.
Check out the new Poser Python Wish List thread. If you have an idea for a script, jot it down and maybe someone can write it. If you're looking to write a script, check out this thread for useful suggestions.

Also, check out the official Python site for interpreters, sample code, applications, cool links and debuggers. This is THE central site for Python.

You can now attach text files to your posts to pass around scripts. Just attach the script as a txt file like you would a jpg or gif. Since the forum will use a random name for the file in the link, you should give instructions on what the file name should be and where to install it. Its a good idea to usually put that info right in the script file as well.

Seno Software (P3dO) and I released (free) to the public an early version of a server daemon that receives library filenames from external apps, then loads them into Poser. Thank you all for your help and suggestions on this topic. I'm working on enhancing the server to: 1) Accept a raw data stream connections 2) Allow remote procedure call connections 3) Allow client scripts to register call back handlers for specified types of connections. 4) Provide simultainious multiple Tkinter script protection. I have a beta version with items 3 and 4 that I will post soon for comments and feedback. I've barely used Poser's library interface for over a month now. Almost all my browsing of library files is now thru P3dO. It also allows me to organize library files of any type (mix and match) into any directory structure I choose.
