Subject: How do you "Unsmart" a prop?

I have a Bow that is smart proped to the charater's right hand but I want the charater to hold it in her left hand. How do I make it "Let go?" Everytime I move the prop the right hand moves too.

In the Bow's properties, parent it to 'universe' to un-smart it from the hand. Move to the other hand, then set the parent to that hand. "Everytime I move the prop the right hand moves too." - It sounds as if the hand is parented to the prop, rather than the other way around?

Or the arm is IK-on and the hand is IK-parented to the bow.
