If patience is really a virtue, this must be the forum of saints.

Brother CrazyDawg of the Holy Order of Renders. May the Gods of all renders shine up on your WIPs

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

Let cast the first processor who... And let them use all the volumetric and what not options in Terragen and then see whether it would take 2-3 hours. :-) But yeah, any time I put something to render, you can hear the sound of sanctity a long distance away. ;-)

Aye, I can't imagine a render of any quality taking less than five hours for me in Bryce, now. It's the only reason I have for taking a break and going to sleep.

Aldaron ( ) posted Fri, 28 January 2005 at 8:16 PM

Ok the guy complains about a simple render taking 5 minutes in Terragen? What did expect, press render and poof instant pic?! He would be climbing the walls if he used the Mighty Bryce :)

lordstormdragon ( ) posted Fri, 28 January 2005 at 8:19 PM

Not just Bryce... Even Maya, with all of it's massive optimization methods, renders slowly if you want a decent image. The same holds true in any app. If you want real-time 3D, go play a video game! (they can be fun, too!)

Two words; QUALITY not QUANTITY! awww alright then, three words :-)

lordstormdragon (still bloody 15 letters...grumble, grumble) I agree. I have brought C4D to its metaphorical knees with a couple of renders (in excess of 24hrs) pumeco, yup! always been my sentiment!

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

Yeah I know, I've noticed with your render quality :-D

Can I claim "Incarnadine, Knight Templar of the Heretics of the Outer Darkness" (seeing how most of my time is with Cinema now)? @pakled - sunrise is a wonderful way to end the evening!
