Press Release =============

Okino Computer Graphics Receives Autodesk Inventor 10 "Certification" for its PolyTrans & NuGraf 3D Data Conversion, Re-Purposing & Rendering Pipeline Okino's certified "Autodesk Inventor" pipeline solutions provides rendering, visualization and data translation solutions to thousands of Autodesk Inventor users and those of other 3D animation packages. Toronto, Ontario February 2nd 2005 -- Okino Computer Graphics, a leading provider of 3D photo-realistic rendering, visualization and data translation solutions to the enterprise Fortune 1000 market for over a decade, announced today that its currently shipping NuGraf and PolyTrans software products have received the "Autodesk Inventor 10 Certification". Okino has been a registered Autodesk developer since 1995 and has allocated over three years to the development and refinement to its dedicated Autodesk Inventor import solution. Certification by Autodesk, as per the "Inventor Certified Applications Program" validates the overall completeness and robustness of the Okino Inventor importer solution again (it was last certified for Inventor 9 in 2004). The certification is made by Autodesk's Inventor support staff by performing a series of strict tests for adherence and conformance to the Inventor API, robustness, completeness and overall design quality. The Autodesk Inventor solution from Okino allows geometry, hierarchy and materials (assembly data) to be transferred from native disk-based Autodesk Inventor files or from a running copy of the Autodesk Inventor directly into any Okino compliant program, such as NuGraf, PolyTrans, Discreet's 3DS MAX (via native plug-ins), Alias Maya (via native plug-ins) and dozens of other packages as outlined below. Please refer to this URL on the Okino WEB site for the Autodesk Inventor solutions page: http://www.okino.com/solutions/autodesk_inventor.htm and to this URL for a longer press release describing the benefits of the Okino Inventor importer: http://www.okino.com/press/iv020404.pdf The dedicated Autodesk Inventor importer benefits all Inventor users or any user in general who receives Inventor data. No longer are these users entirely dependent upon Inventor for 3D rendering, animation or data translation; rather, assemblies can now easily be exported through this converter pipeline to Okino's powerful NuGraf software for the viewing/composition/creation of photo-realistic imagery, as well as 3D scene data optimization and reduction, or the re-export and re-purposing of the Inventor data to dozens of major 3D file formats. The assemblies can be re-exported from NuGraf or PolyTrans to a wide range of industry standard 3D scene and animation file formats not previously available to Inventor users, such as Apple 3D Metafile, 3DS MAX (via native plug-ins), DirectX, DXF, Electric Image FACT, HOOPS HSF, Lightscape, Lightwave, Maya (via native plug-ins), Okino native BDF, Open GL C Code, OpenFlight, POV Ray, Renderman RIB, RenderWare/ActiveWorlds, Rhino-3D/OpenNURBS, Shockwave-3D, SoftImage-3D, Softimage-XSI, STL, trueSpace, Wavefront OBJ, Viewpoint VET, VRML 1+2 and SGI Inventor2, and XGL. A growing number of exporters are also available from third party companies. Note that the translation process is uni-directional as it converts solids from Inventor into polygons for the destination format.
