Subject: Frustrated!

Hey guys and gals!
I'm so frustrated with Poser 5. I bought a lot of stuff from DAZ like all the mike and vicki and teen, preteen and preschoolers as well as the body and head morpths and textures. Everytime I try and inject the characters into the figure, it doesn't change at all. So basically I don't know how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, when I bought the young teen characters, Laura and Luke, they are not in the figure list. TIA.

I don't use Vicky all that often, but if you're using the base morph packages from DAZ you will have to use the dials to get the morphs inj to work. Clicking on them simply loads it into the Paramaters menu. Freebie character packs I have used will load with the morphs already 'activated'...everything else is up to you to customize the model for your needs. You may need to double check that everything installed to your runtime correctly for the characters...that might be what is causing them to not show up correctly. Anything I get from DAZ I install to a temp folder outside my Poser runtime so I can organize my runtimes the way I want, rather than letting the installer do things directly. Hope that helps a little.

Laura and Luke will be found in the DAZ People folder.

If you're using Poser 5, you should install any morph-injected figures to the main runtime. Either that, or copy the !DAZ folder over to the main runtime.

The way those !INJs work, you won't see any change just by clicking on the icon. All that does is put a dial in the body (or head, if it's a head morph). From the parameter dials menu, find the newly injected morph, and dial it to 1. Then you'll see the morph.

Hope you get on well. Check back if you're having problems. I'm a new P5 user myself and very much still learning.

Also, you may have to switch rooms before the dials will show in the pose room. If switching rooms doesn't work, close the paremeters panel, then switch rooms, then reopen the parameters panel.

You don't need to switch rooms for the dials to show up, just switch to a different body part, then back again. Poser is not "intelligent" enough to realise that the dials for the currently shown character part have been updated, so needs to be prompted to refresh them... (AKA a programming oversight). Cheers, Diolma

That never worked for me Diolma, I've tried and tried. I always have to switch rooms. I'm glad it works for you however.

FWIW, choosing another body part (or another figure, if there's more than one in the scene) works for me. Switching to other tab in the Parameter Dials box and back works, too.

don't forget to use CRTL and I to bring up the dials.
