THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Damn you Drawbridgep!!!

Like a good friend of mine back at uni in Nottingham used to say, "May your camel never take you to water, infidel!" I liked Hassan, he made me Turkish coffee and got mad when I offered him a burger saying "It's beef, would I lie to you?" Anyway, so it took me 24 hours to understand Wings UVmapping. I'm currently in this love/hate kinda thing towards you. Like I couldn't believe I was dumb enough to promise a tut on it, but I'm glad I finally understood it. My head aches... drac

Well, if it was such a pain to find out how it works I bet a lot of people will be very happy with that tutorial!

The real question is, Why would I bother trying to work out how to do something when there is someone willing to do the donkey work?

Now, if you can explain glass materials in wings to me(and why the glass objects shadow isn't transparent), then I'll be even happier.

I've attached a render I created in Wings and rendered in yafray in about 2 minutes (!). But I won't (can't) repeat the 4 letter word that Drac uttered when he saw it. It's a true HDRI image. But I was trying to get glass cubes, not mirrored spheres, so not THAT clever. ;-)

LOL Hey Phil its superbowl sunday, why aren't you at a party, lol. BTW nice balls!

Still an hour till kick off. But the Patriots knocked out the Colts by cheating. SO, I could care less. (As long as the Eagles win). I'm having my own little party. Gale is making chili and margaritas and we're staying in.

Did you do the prerender subdivision? I think that's how I got a many faced odbject to look like a spere.

drawbridgep ( ) posted Mon, 07 February 2005 at 6:37 AM

I have no idea what prerender subdivision is, so I think I can safely say, No, I didn't. You mean because of the imperfections in the surface? I actually kinda like it in this case. But I know where you're coming from.

This is what I was talking about. From what I've been able to figure out it seems to work like hitting the smooth button.
