On another note, anyone interested in the model as a freebie when (if) I finally finish it?
Mahray Edit - Ignore the browny texture at the back, that's just so the detail can be seen.

Just a suggestion.... From many, many years ago, the memories of my science classes surface... I thought the standard color for microscopes was a mid-tone, pebble-finish grey? With silver/steel metal parts? Or has the 'standard' changed since my day? (Long past, I admit!)
There's plenty of room for variety: different manufacturers, different times of manufacture, different materials, different finishes. Also they can differ quite a bit on features: Reflecting mirror? Lightbulb? Built in filters? Single magnification? Triple? Swappable lens sets? There isn't really a standard for microscopes, other than the fact they can magnify stuff and do so with some degree of clarity.

Ive got a red one... of course the fact that mine's plastic may have something to do with that. (ggg) but it still works - takes pictures too, AND projects images on a wall - okay, so they can be rather fuzzy, but what can you expect from a plastic microscope? It even has a light you can switch on and off by swivelling it around - it sits just under the slide platform. Er... does yours need a light? Or is that internal? Otherwise it looks pretty much how I remember the University ones used to. Good stuff. Fran

Mahray: Underneath the lense is a square 'table' which you rest or clip the slides on. But you need a hole in it for the light to shine through from underneath. I don't see that on your model.

I got the microscope this far, cleaned up meshes for everything, ready to assemble and texture...And realized I forgot the knobs.
