The larger the textures, the more it will add to rendertime. Probably not a great deal in most cases, but it will have an impact. One great thing about animation is that some of the flaws you can easily spot in still images aren't as apparent in motion. You can often get away with a much lower resolution on textures in certain animation sequences than you can in stills, providing a bit more speed.

Ok. Thanks. That means I have to map out the textures that I'm going to be using, back them up then edit them to make them smaller. Sounds good. Thanks for the help.

I'm making several small animations (5 sec each about 300 frames). Is it better to use low resolution textures over high resolution when it comes to fast rendering? Will using low reso textures speed up rendering? I'm rendering at full frames 60per sec then I'll compress in Ulead. I'm at work or else I'd experiment. Thanks for the info.
