I find that funny too. Macs are a beast of a different nature than a PC. Basically if you want to do the DOS type stuff, you have to learn about something called Terminal and the Darwin flavor of Unix. It can do some things you can't do from the normal environment without using some kind of expensive utility. Also if you hold the button down long enough, it should force a shutdown like it does on most PCs. LOL. Plus I've had programs quit for no reason, but usually the rest of the system stays up. Still quite annoying though. Using any OS 9 stuff on a current Mac is just asking for trouble too, and should be avoided. The most annoying Mac problem I've encountered is that they like hold onto disks and not spit them out when asked. Add to that there's no hole for a paperclip. (Turns out that there is, but it's on the side somewhere. Who would expect that?) * Note: I don't own a Mac, but use 'em at the school graphics lab.

hehehe. A typical pc user trying to use a mac. a stupid monk. Sorry but i use a mac since 1988 ( friend was taping lines in MS dos...hehehehe) and now with os X it's a revolution ( UNIX).
To shut down he press the bouton press the bouton. He's realy stupid. He can't read. You just have to press 4 secondes the bouton and he shut down easy. First page on the manual. Read before use, or maybe he has to go to school. You see the statistic of us education. 3 people of 5 can't read and 2 of 5 can't write. Sade but reality...I understand...Intel inside the machine stupid outside...
I do support on mac os 9 in my agency 8 years. No one bug. You can do it or not..
A thing. MAc is for pro. Take a pc with windows FP ( fischerprice) to play games do some rubbish.
There are some good pc Like Boxx but for pro not children playing around. The only good system on PC is 2000 pro .The rest is shit.
See you..

Yeah. That and explain why the OS9 versions of Director and QuarkXpress would bomb repeatedly on the OS-X Macs. Later OS-X versions seemed to resolve the problem.

Please, lets not make this to a ridiculous Mac vs PC flame war! Both systems have their good and bad things, and ild say that its up to the user to show some interest in the system, to make it work properly. Both systems work well in the right hands. Ive worked with both systems, and ive had more problems with Macs then with PCs, but calling either of the systems crap, or the users stupid, is plain ridiculous. The sadest part is, that even though some Mac users constantly flaming PC and Windows, they often forget to take their rabies-shots as soon as the slightest negative thing is written about Macs. Even if its meant to be a joke... I would personally laugh just as much if they had made something like this of Windows. And as a note, the guy in the video is in fact a Mac Pro and the video is not meant to be taken to seriously. Its very funny though... :)

Here's a few facts on literacy in the US for jo3l to research for himself if he likes: The 2000 Program for International Student Assessment found that on a combined reading literacy scale, U.S. 15 year olds performed about as well on average as most of the 27 participating OECD countries. * Students in Finland, Canada, and New Zealand outperformed U.S. students. * U.S. students performed at the same levels as students in 19 other OECD countries. * U.S. students performed better on average than students from Greece, Portugal, Luxembourg, and Portugal. According to the 1999 National Household Education Survey, 50% of the population aged 25 and over read a newspaper at least once a week, read one or more magazines regularly, and had read a book in the past 6 months. According to the 1999 National Household Education Survey, the percentage of the population aged 25 and over that read a newspaper at least once a week, read one or more magazines regularly, and read a book in the past 6 months was: * 50.2% of the population aged over 25, * 53.7% of the employed population, * 48.1% of the unemployed, looking for work, and * 42.4% of the population not in the labor force; * 30.5% of people with a household income of less than $15,000, * 43.9% with a household income of $15,001 - $30,000, * 49.9% with a household income of $30,001 - $50,000, * 53.6% with a household income of $50,001 - $75,000, and * 65.8% with a household income over $75,000; * 53.1% of the White population, * 46.9% of the Black population, * 28.5% of the Hispanic population, and * 50.2% of the population of other race/ethnicities. This information comes from the Literacy Information and Communications System (LINCS). According to Alvin Toffler, who had done extensive research on illiteracy in the US, over 10% (25+ million) cannot read or write at all (most of these people fall into the poverty category in the financial scale of American society). Another 45 million are functionally illiterate (meaning they can still function in average society and hold physical labor jobs where reading and writing skills are not a high priority). That's around 28% total. That's an alarming percentage, but certainly not near the 3 out of 5 you quoted. Also it should be pointed out that many people categorized as "functionally illiterate" actually suffer from undiagnosed learning disabilities like dyslexia and ADD, which can be medically and therapeutically corrected.

The funniest mac Story ive read recently was from some guy Over at Cgtalk.com was complaining that he was forced to work in at MAC lab at school because the instructor would not let him connect his PEE CEE laptop to the PC network until he had performed a full reformat of it. Why was he reformating his PEE CEE???? because he had caught yet ANOTHER PEE CEE VIRUS ..........hilarous!!!!!
And yet they'll probably let anyone bring in a floppy, home burnt CD, or memory stick. LOL! Not to mention browse the internet.
