Probably can't be fixed because the data likely no longer exists. From context, it appears that the concept is using Firefly micropoly displacement to give the appearance of short fur. The displacement can be driven by the noise node or a height map (tiled many times over). The artifact shown by lkendall is due to the change of surface normal occurring at polygon boundaries. With the current version of Poser, subdividing the shirt a few times would fix that.
