Subject: request for help with homemade morphs (that explode and deform extra mesh)

okey doke. i am building these shoulder morphs on vic in 3dmax as an aid in controlling dynamic cloth. i have exported the parts, both as objs and as morphs, changed them in max by simply moving the effected polys. then i import to poser, export as a morph target, then reimport as morph targets. the targets are so tiny, like .0001 on the dial, and also negative (que?), and as if that isn't bad enough, they pull the entire mesh with them, although to a somewhat lesser degree. i am on a dialup and can't get into the archived messages. (really bad connection here in the sticks.) any help would be appreciated.

Don't export from Poser, it isn't exact, use the original OBJ file in the Geometry folder. You also should scale up on import, and scale down the same amount to make life easier in Max, most use either 100 or 1000X. Get a copy of Objaction Scaler to do that.

You may find the free Habware OBJ import/export plug in helpful. The screen shot shows the settings I use when doing morphs. Versions are available for different Max versions.
