Subject: How about a chat session?

JordyArt ( ) posted Sun, 20 February 2005 at 6:46 AM · edited Mon, 20 January 2025 at 3:24 AM

What with the excitement and upheavel in the forum recently, and the fact there's a lot of new names appeared over the last few weeks, how does anyone feel about formally arranging a chat session? I've noticed no-one seems to make much use of the chat room these days (least not when I'm around), and I for one would love to get to know you guys as people. So, if we want to go for it, we need to pick a day first, then a time that is most suitable for the majority. (Time zones being what they are, this NEVER suits everyone!) The hardest part is always getting someone to make the first tentative suggestions, so coz I'm British and we invented time (GMT. See?) I propose Thursday night at 21:00 GMT..... Thursday to give us time to arrange our life around it ;-) Feel Free to continue this by suggesting other suitable days and times, and hopefully in about 3 days we should be able to get it sorted!!! Love to be there to say hi around 9 - can't stay long cos gotta go make tractors half way through the night.

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

Shiela - funnily enough you get sick of the sight of them by the end of the day. But for you..........this is the type we make. You can have any colour as long as it is Blue or Red. Most of then are exported to US.

Thursday night 9 O'clock, in the chat room? I'll be there. I'll park the tractors, and for 5 an hour I'll make sure no harm comes to them ... if you know what I mean. (Have I picked up this thread wrong?)

Richard...Thanks!!!!!! yeah, i can believe you get sick of seeing them if you work with them every day. it's the same at the restaurant. i've been there 8 years. NOTHING there appeals to me anymore except broccoli!!! LOL! *hands on hips* What??? I can't have it in purple???? You ever wonder why you don't get cool color options for tractors???? the only tractor images i have are macro shots. i'm gonna have to take some regular shots this summer! Thanks a lot for showing me, Richard! She's a beauty! can i take her for a spin?? And yours too, aangus! i see yours is no spring chicken...kinda like me!! LOL! very nice shot and kewl invite you made there! hahaha...you're gonna moonlight as a tractor valet???!!! wish i had thought of it! i'll have to trust you that your fee is not too high; i don't have a converter handy!!! ok...tractor party it is!!!!!!! yippppeeeee! sorry guys...wish i could show you more, but this is all i got...

tvernuccio ( ) posted Sun, 20 February 2005 at 10:58 AM

oops, our posts crossed, Cindy...after 10 pm would probably be better for me. i think i'll be home by then but no guarantees. you know the restaurant business....you just never know. last Thursday night i was supposed to be out by 9 pm, but we got totally slammed. so anyway, yeah, 10 pm or later would probably be better for me. more chance i'd be home then.

JordyArt ( ) posted Sun, 20 February 2005 at 10:59 AM

sigh Cyn, you just HAVE to confuse things, dontcha? RR Time? That's like, 6 hours behind GMT innit? 10pm RR time = 4am here. On a work day?!? Hmm. A weekend slot may be better at this rate. I didn't expect most people to agree with 9pm Thurs so readily, I expected LOADS of hiccoughs and hoo-hars..... damn, I hate it when people agree with me so readily. How am I supposed to stand out?!? jacoggins ( ) posted Mon, 21 February 2005 at 2:37 PM

sounds like fun, all I've gotta do is convert GMT into RR into Central Standard Time and then figure out which day Thursday is in GMT and then convert that into RR and then that into Central Standard Time, but if I figure that all out, I'm there!!!!

tvernuccio ( ) posted Mon, 21 February 2005 at 5:06 PM

hey jack, well i hate numbers, and i might be wrong but i think it's easy. all you do is say post a reply to this thread. look at the GMT time it says. For instance, the reply i just posted said 17:00. 17:00 would be 5:00 pm my time. oh wait...that's not right! it's actually 6:00 my time. hmmm, what's up with that? never mind. scratch that. i thought i had it figured out! LOL! oopsy!

Tedz ( ) posted Mon, 21 February 2005 at 5:38 PM

You think YOU have problems with Time...My Today is Your ... Tomorrow! Muuuuuuuuah!

jacoggins ( ) posted Mon, 21 February 2005 at 6:21 PM

ok, let me see if I have this straight, Tedz tommorow is my yesterday, no wait, his Saturday is my November, minus tv's 6:00 which is my 7:00 on Friday which in turn is Tedz's October which is actually RR's Julybruary, which in turn is WTF!!!!!!! Who's on first? I know, third base.....HELP!!!!!!!

jacoggins ( ) posted Mon, 21 February 2005 at 6:22 PM

it's all clear to me now....or is that tommorow?

Tedz ( ) posted Mon, 21 February 2005 at 6:46 PM

I say Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know's on third. So...We have settled for Julybruary the 49th at 5200 Hours, which incidentally is My Saturday Night Live and Your Friday Night Fever....easy peasy...Japanesey!

jacoggins ( ) posted Mon, 21 February 2005 at 7:02 PM

uh Tedz, is that according to the Julian, Gregorian or Mayan calender?

JordyArt ( ) posted Tue, 22 February 2005 at 2:44 AM

Lol - Who's on First is one of our wind-ups at work... in the office it's a predominantly young workforce so we can get everyone confused!!!! Not that it's hard with this bunch of blondes and wannabe-blondes. (",)

cynlee ( ) posted Tue, 22 February 2005 at 2:53 AM · edited Tue, 22 February 2005 at 2:54 AM

so... are we going to think of a new time? day? or what? 4am on a work day does sound pretty rough...

tvernuccio ( ) posted Tue, 22 February 2005 at 8:36 AM

yeah, what's the scoop? are we still shooting for Thurs or for the weekend?

bsteph2069 ( ) posted Tue, 22 February 2005 at 6:05 PM

How about Thurs!!! Sat was not always effective as I recall. Besides when is the best time again? As I recall people usually were available from about 7:00pm - 8:00pm Central in the old days. That would mean about 11:00 for Jordy, about 5-6:00pm for West coast US and 9:00pm for the East coast. Um not sure about Australia ect. Bsteph

JordyArt ( ) posted Wed, 23 February 2005 at 12:11 PM · edited Wed, 23 February 2005 at 12:13 PM

As 'Australia etc' only includes the mad old fart anyways, he can time travel back a couple of hours in the mothership.

Thursday 11(ish) GMT it is then? The aye's have it.....

Anyways, what we have to consider is that this should just be the first of many!! God help us if it takes THIS much organisation each time!!! ROFLMAO (",)

thinks Christ, this is gonna be a MAD party..... checks vodka.... yup, enough.....
