Hey Ockham! Thanks for this!! I tried it it worked great!! Just wondering though... is there any way to rotate the character with this script? Every bvh I loaded had the character going sideways (left to right) I'm assuming the Y rotation wasn't affected.

Couldn't you just rotate the BODY at frame 1? You might also try my 'BVH Mixer' script, which loads the BVH with several options that Poser doesn't give you.

even after keyframing frame 1 after rotating, it promptly starts turning at the next frame... I'll try your bvh mixer script next and we'll see what happens! Thanks! G

" even after keyframing frame 1 after rotating, it promptly starts turning at the next frame... " 1--Go to frame one and determine how much you need to change the y rot value, but don't change it yet. 2--Go to the graph for y rot, highlight all keys, hold down 'Ctrl' and drag all keys up or down by the amount that you determined in step one.

A short time ago I was having a problem importing 3rd party BVH files, my figure would disappear (I was told they were just moved off of the scene by the BVH file). Tunesy gave me this fix (see below) for the problem and it worked fantastic. What I want to know is there a way to do this in a python script. This is Tunesy fix To have your figure 'start' the motion at the center of the studio: 1--Make note of your figures hip x, y and z trans values at frame one. 2--Apply those values with 'opposite signs' to the body x, y and z trans at frame one, e.g. negative one hundred x trans on the hip would correspond to positive one hundred x trans on the body. To see if it worked go to your main camera view and restore it (ctrl/shift/H) at frame one. The figure should be spacially oriented as if it were a default figure (except in a 'pose' now) in front of the default main camera orientation. I hope you understood what I am asking Thank you Steve
