Guests. And what is the first thing a newly hatched dragon wants to do after a hard morning tearing itself out of a shell? Guests, I wouldn't have fallen for that invitation. Great job so far. We're hoping you find a way to distribute the 'hatchlingafying' morph. (I know it's not just a morph, but I wanted to keep it simple.) xenic101 (odd notions of simple)

The girl is Yamato's Tenten J character for the Millennium Girls preteen. Her costume came from the Tenten revival fair a few months ago, it was a fabulous freebie and came in two versions, one for preteen and one for the preschool girl. It was a blue and white affair, but the red and gold dragon texture was made for it by another generous freebie maker whose name won't come to mind just now. The preschool item will fit the preschool boy too, so I borrowed the sandals and socks from it. The Boy also wears the standard Millenium Boys pants and the T-shirt in my remapped version because I thought the UV mapping was rather poor on the original. The texture set for his clothes was of my own making, based on a Chinese "dragon robe" design from a texture resource I got from Dover Books.
The posing of the two was carefully done and I spent a little while tweaking the face dials to put some expression on their faces. It always amazes me the number of people who don't bother to play with the expression dials in Poser before rendering or exporting stuff to be rendered elsewhere.
I also made the mother dragon's eyes more conspicuous, not by making them more reflective as I thought I might, but by raising the ambience in the materials editor to 50 percent. Usually ambience settings that high won't look right, but it makes her eyes stand out here just enough. Thanks to FranOnTheEdge for the suggestion about the eyes, they do look better.
Next stage is to add some small terrains with lowered resolution to represent the piles of ash and debris around the base of each egg. This is done to keep them upright as they develop, don't ask me why that's just the way dragons do these things (8=D
OK we got babies, guests, mother, next stage will be to add father dragon to the scene. More on that when it appears.
The final stage will be to tweak materials and maybe composition, experimenting with camera angle changes and maybe a few lighting changes. More to come on how this is done, plus the Bryce procedural materials from the scene as a present to anyone who finds them useful.
