Hmmm. Got a picture: 620 hits, one comment. Got a newer one, 16 hits, 2 comments. That gives rather strange proportions.
How come from 620 guys/girls only one wrote anything ? ANYTHING, they could say it's a crap, stupid, ugly work, not even worth putting in the gallery... but no. Nothing, nada. And from 16 people two - 12.5% - wanted to say something.
Weird. Show people some nekkid body and they come in thousands... But to say something ? No.
Even if I'm rather disappointed because thumbnail was much more atractive, I try to say something to the creator. That he/she can improve something, pose differently or use different colour palette, but that I still like something about this work (usually I like - because if thumbnail is interesting, part of image IS interesting).

Thats just the way it goes sometimes - there's no magic formula for getting comments it just depends who looks at your image. I'm sure there are many people who never say anything. Think of it this way - you shared your image with 625 people (I went and checked hehe), whether they say something or not you know they looked at it so be happy :)

I took the bait, and you drew a lurker out of the darkness. I had to go and look at your images. Very well done! Just keep in mind, it seems like anything with nudity gets a lot of hits, but not so many comments. Consider the hits as an indication that people liked it.

Anything without nudity will get fewer hits, but typically a much higher comment to hit ratio. My guess is it's because more viewers are actually interested in the image or art without nudity, where many viewers go at warp speed from nude to nude. Just a guess.

Of course there are those like me, who spend more time in the shadows because they don't feel thay have any good advice to offer other than "wow, that's nice".

ps: I left a couple of comments too. Excellent lighting on the nude.

Yes, a lot of people, if they like the picture, wont want to say great or excellent etc because it is said a lot underneath pictures already.

I had over two hundred hits on one of mine in a matter of a few hours and only 1 comment lol. It happens. People preview but they rarely comment. I took my images down though, for now. No one really comments on my stuff anyway. ;)

Thanks for cheering me up, comments and advices. Thank you ! I guess I won't do nudes for some time, but I'm happy that there are people who will spent some time on writing anything to the poor creator. I still don't consider number of hits as indication that people liked the image - rather as people who liked the thumbnail ^^;. But it's not the comments that I'm creating my works for, so I guess I have to live with facts. Thanks for explaining me things about other people ;-)

That does bother me to. So, now all I do is just look at the images, to use up time. Even if the image is great, or worse. Their are buyers for comments and credits out their and I know who they are. "You make a comment and credit on mine, I will make a comment and credit on yours. No matter how bad it is." I do not make comments and credits on those people and they make it to the top. It is like they are stealing the show and know the tricks how to do it. Like I haven't seen that kind of image before. "Boring (Yawn)" and they make it to the top 20. I will never make it to the top 20, so Why do I bother.

One tip is to find a group of people who like your work and return the favor. If you are mostly positive and faithful and you truly like there work they make the effort to check out your new post. Remember even friends can be critical if they are trying to help you improve. Don't feel that they are picking on anyone. Remember to make your comments show that you have actually taken the time to make a considered comment on there art. Taking this stand helps you improve your work and theres as you go. What goes around comes around. Everyone is very busy now a days, and it helps them know that you apreciate them taking the time to check out your work. A note thanking them is NOT NECESSARY it takes up there time. They would rather you look at there art and make comments about there work. Also take the time to look at the art in general here. New friends are waiting to be noticed. One other thing is to make your thumb nail appealing, it is like the icing on the cake.

Thanks once again. I really do appreciate good advices, and I have nothing against constructive criticism. I'm fairly new to Poser, I won't go cry to my boyfriend because of someone said "it's not art yet, there's lotsa things to improve". But I would feel sad if someone said "put it to trash, log off and never come back". It's just that people won't write anything. Silence kills ;). A good thumbnail is a bait, in my case it was way too good for the rest of image ;)

I wouldn't say that the thumbnail was in any way better than the rest of the image. The image was (is) great! I didn't see anything wrong with it at all. I'm not good enough to lend any constructive criticism.

I've noticed that sometimes it helps to ask for some constructive criticism in your post. That's what I did with my firt post (about a week ago), and got some good feed back. I would have liked a little more, but what I got was very helpful. But be prepared for getting feedback that may "sting" a little, that's just part of the learning/growing process.

You may also get feedback that you don't agree with, or that doesn't fit the message you want to convey with the image. Our natural tendancy is to either get upset or ignore feedback of that nature. But a good way to approach it is to ask yourself "why doesn't this person see what I'm trying to convey". This opens your eyes and allows you to improve by seeing through someone elses eyes.

Do another Poser render, post it and ask for constructive comments, and I bet you will be pleasantly suprised.

Anyone worth having in your circle would not say something like that. Even a very poorly done page that I saw not to long ago just said. Looks like a lot of work needed here. Anyone who is crass would get that type of comment in return.
