"Did Sixus1 make that figure?" This is the DAZ Troll,I believe Sixus made one a while ago..as has Getjolly & Curio.
Stonemason: Thanks for the info'. I used to buy a few of your models from that site some time ago but unfortunately, for them, I no longer visit the site very often. Still, that's another story for another time! Also, I was a little remiss earlier - I should have mentioned this is a nice render showing off the figure quite well. The model reminds me of the earlier 'Elemental' model.
"I used to buy a few of your models from that site some time ago but unfortunately, for them, I no longer visit the site very often. Sorry it took so long for me to see this, Stonemason, I just got home from work. The render was done in Vue 5 Esprit, with Global Illumination. The mat on mine is one of the ones that came with the Troll. BTW, when I got it, the read-me (yes, I actually read it!) said that there was a figure with IK set up and another figure with JCM...something. From what I read, the JCM figure will actually flex the muscles when you bend the arm. Sounds nice, but my question is...What the heck is JCM? This is something new to me. (And no, I haven't actually looked in the manual yet. So there!) :^P Thanks for any clarification! Mike
JCM= Joint Controlled morphs... the bend joint is linked to the bicep flex morph, for instance. It works pretty cool as well, and I won;t even bother to load the other version, after playing with it! As far as the textures you're seeing, they are the ones included witrh the character. They didn't include P5 material settings, so I did ones for both troll material aseetings, both lava and natural. There's a link for them in the troll thread in Daz's commons, I think on the 4th page.
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
logansfury,
I found it in the Commons forum at DAZ, on page 8 of the Sticky - 'It's stinky, ugly and smelly. It's a ... ' by Moriah L Jones.
btw - thanks for the P5 MATs Gareee, I bought the troll a couple of days ago but haven't installed/played with him (it, her, whatever) yet...

Yer welcome, Guslaw.. it was a labor of love.. believe it or not, I spent about 3-4 HOURS tweaking the mats. A lot more time then I had planned, but the material room is a "playroom" sometimes, and I kept getting better and better results. If you follow the thread, I even worked on them a second time, tweaking a little bit more. I'd love to see side by side render of jolly troll, and the daz troll rendered at the same time. Maybe we need a troll thread, like the old dragon comparison thread?

"Maybe we need a troll thread, like the old dragon comparison thread?" That would be AWSOME! I only have Jolly, Cave Troll by John Malis, and an oldie of Traveler's at the moment and plan of getting DAZ's real soon, I also have Curio's on my list but wanted his dragon first. Don't think I've even seen the one mentioned by Sixus1??? As soon as I have DAZ's there will be a DAZ vs Jolly render...unless someone beats me to it ;p ...now Jolly needs some cool duds like DAZ's too. BTW, DAZ's needs a name! are we keep refering to him as "DAZ's" forever??

If you haven't picked up the Troll from Daz yet...it is highly recommended! It's a great figure. Just wait until I get him and the Mil Dragon together!
