Subject: User interface won't stick.

Installed Poser 4 on my newest computer which has 2 gigs of RAM. Installed the 4.03 updater and the memory updater. But when I set the Preferred state after setting the interface to my preference, it doesn't come back the next time I launch Poser. My new main window size and background picture are there, but all the components seem to be back in their original places. I even saved my interface in a UI memory dot and then set the Preferred State, but it didn't work. I even uninstalled Poser and reinstalled along with the updates, but still didn't work. Also, the minimize/maximize,exit buttons don't seem to work although I can still do those functions via the taskbar. I'm now using a 1600x1200 screen resolution. Might that be a problem? Any suggestions?

Hi ManOfSteel, After you have reset Poser to the Factory state ... Setup everything the way you want it and then ... CLICK ... "Set Preferred State" Then CLICK ... "Launch to Preferred State" and CLICK ... "Use Previous State" cheers, dr geep ;=]

That's what I've been doing. It still doesn't work. I've even clicked the "Launch to Preferred State" button, then the "Launch to Previous State" button, and THEN the "Set Preferred State" button since that's how I remember doing it on my old computer, but it didn't work. Strangely, it DOES remember the new Main Window size, and the background picture I import, and to launch with my preferred character, but all the components have moved back to their original positions. I"ve even saved my interface in a UI dot and then set the Preferred State as you said and as I remember, but it doesn't work. It's just so annoying!

I am sorry that does not work for you. ;=[ The only other thing I can suggest is to (hate to say it) try to do a reinstall of Poser. ;=|

I did...twice! Once with the 4.03 updater and then the memory updater, and the next time with the memory updater first, followed by the 4.03 updater. Still doesn't work. It's very mysterious, isn't it? LOL. I"m one of those people that just HAS TO KNOW WHY! In any case, my interface is stored in a dot. All I have to do after Poser launches is click on it. It's just the principle of the thing!
