THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: A question about those tiny pixel thingies ...

Is an 800-pixel motion blur the same as twenty 40-pixel motion blurs? Jasc PSP6 is my only image editor and it only goes up to 40, which is not nearly enough blurrage. And since it takes a significant amount of time to do a 40-pixel blur, it would take less time to await a response in the forum than try it 40 times. Any PSP users here? Anyone? (Echo: Anyone? Anyone? ...)

I'm a Photoshop user, but I think it's the same. When you apply the 40 motion blur to a selection it will smear the selection to the distance of 40 pixels from it. 800 motion blur will smear it accordingly. Applying the 40 pixel blur repeatedly will blur the pic more than a single one, but not as much as the single 800 pixel blur. BTW, the big blur is too much. You'd need to have a very very big pic to blur it so much.

Thanks Erilk. However, I'm using the blur, not to simulate motion, but to test a fake volumetric lighting tip that Orbital published. I really should get photoshop.
