Funny how an image/scene can become suddenly & unexpectedly beautiful just by concentrating on the light for a while. An otherwise unremarkable scene becomes a "keeper" by changing the atmosphere details & sun alignment. Courtesy mostly of Ecosystem, 5 minutes to set up, 1 minute 10 seconds to render. Not bad.

That is a really nice image. I would like to see a tutorial on how you were able to achieve that effect. :o)

Yep, this is where a background in photography can come in handy. Light itself has always been the medium of photography. Or you can learn lighting by just being very observant in your daily life.

Of course, light is the most important element in scenes i think. We are optical orientated animals so that is no wonder. In my images i guess i work 50% minimum on the light in a scene, to get the effect i want to. For me the tric is not to use too many lights. normally 3-4 maximum. One or two for the mood mainly, the rest to support that and do some details that makes it more interesting. Oh, the image here is a very good example for that. Very moody.

I'm only just beginning to appreciate the importance (and complexity) of lighting. So much to learn!
