Would you like to see a Poser 6 Forum and Gallery here at Rendersoity? I know I would, just consider the number of OT topics, looking for a prop, New figure at DAZ, what do you use for Post work, ect,ect... It would be nice to have a place "just to post Tip and Trick and how2s for P6. Anyone else?

It's a bit early for that yet.

They'll be looking for props for P6. Post work and figures, too.

But for the first few months at least, lots of them will be using both P5 and P6. I expect that only a few people will completely abandon P5 right away, so at least for now My opinion is that the best thing is to have both of them share a forum. But if there is sufficient demand for it in the future...

I'd like to see some support for P6 features and 3rd party figures (LIKE ELLE)...

I echo what PMB has said. I would love to see more support for the less "mainstream" characters such as Elle, Natalia and Dina V.

"I would love to see more support for the less "mainstream" characters such as Elle, Natalia and Dina V." Did you read the orginal Message in this thread? Jeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Niles, no doubt that a lot of the features in P6 will be discussed in this forum. I see no reason to open another forum to differentiate topics between continuing versions of Poser. If it falls under the umbrella of Poser techniques, its should be posted here. Should poser somehow evolve in the future to be more of a modeling program, then such a drastic evolution would certainly warrant separation from previous versions. As is, there is a lot of overlap. For P6, I'd like to see that users are coming up with new techniques with the shader nodes and render settings that can be applied to a number of different figures, including those less mainstream. In addition, the points brought in by Mathman and myself correlate to the fact that P6 represents new market opportunities for products that take advantage of the software features. The major product for P5 was real skin shader and hyperREAL, which were designed for the unimesh figures. It would be nice if the market expanded to allow for such sets for the P6 and other figures as well...

Gareee ( ) posted Sat, 19 March 2005 at 6:35 PM

If P6 works without any major lockups or bugs, then I can't think of a reason why I'd fireup P5 again. I will for checking products, but other then that, why bother?

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

Poser is Poser. They don't have separate forums for each new version of Vue. Or of Lightwave, for that matter.

Poser 4 is very unlike Poser 5. Have you ever tried to use the "search" to find a topic about Poser5? This Forum gets more post than any other Forum here, I just thought it would be nice to have forum where you could actually post about the Software that you are using.

Macsen ( ) posted Sat, 19 March 2005 at 8:18 PM

I would like to see the forum only for P6, but it will be just one more and everybody will start cross posting about how P5 did not do this in P6 and the such... I would rather like for people to tag the messages they sent... Why this and that works diffrent in P6? Problem this with P6 I did this really good thing in P6 So if you make a search mostly P6 stuff would come (or P5, or P4 or PP) But people would try and use that to get attention (again) or would forget to set the tag in the name (I would...) So, in the end.. altough I think a new forum would be GREAT I dont think it would work as espected.. now.. Gallery and FreeStuff and Marketplace would be a WHOLE lot better. (for P6 only stuff, not cross-version stuff, in wich case I would put it in the lowest version that works) My 2 pesos Rick

And some of us will be going from P4 to P6 (having missed out P5) Another learning curve I fear

Trust me.......a separate P6 forum would quickly load up with all sorts of requests for props, threads about postwork, and threads about DAZ figures. After all, those are issues that concern a lot of Poser users. We've debated the "Poser Purist" issue before. A segregated P6 forum wouldn't be any more "pure" than this one.

Birddie ( ) posted Sat, 19 March 2005 at 11:17 PM

I think a seperate P6 forum would be a great idea only because when somone asks a question or needs help, those topics will get buried quick when a P6 thread fills up the forum and knocks everything else out. I'm in no hurry myself to get P6. I spent a lot of money on PP. And if I get a sencond 3D app my P6 will be on the backburner. :)

I well never give up on Poser 5 when Poser 6 comes, though, I was woundering, would you be able to import scenes from Poser 5 into Poser 6 like you can do with DAZ Studio. And will you be able to import Poser 6 characters into DAZ Studio?
