The simplest and best (IMHO) file renamer which I use everyday, is called RenameFiles: http://it-falke.com/software/renamefiles/us_description.php Best of all, it's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ali x

Can either of those search and replace folder names as well as filenames?

I believe renamefiles can but not sure haven't used it in a while. Be careful renaming poser files though, can get you into trouble. Marque

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I haven't had any trouble renaming figures, props, poses, etc. I would definitely not rename textures or geometries. Unless there was a really important reason, like duplicate file names.

Get P3DO Explorer. It will handle renaming files, and so much more. Yes it is free.

I use the same one as Lilybelles. Works a charm for me. No it doesn't do folders. Never seen one that does, actually. mac

I also rename files but always like to give warning in case the person asking hasn't. Always good to pause before doing something drastic..lol Marque

I use RenameFiles too but I have a new one that I like also and it is called: REN - A file renamer. The difference between the two is that REN allows you to keep the filename and simply add a prefix/suffix whereas RenameFiles renames files with a single filename with a number or letter at the beginning of the name. You can get it for free here: http://www.softsystechnologies.com/ren.htm

RANDYM:
There is Fast Folder Rename 1.5 - FREEWARE here: http://www.soft32.com/download-Fast_Folder_Rename-8301-5.html

It does rename folders but not sure if it does it the way you want it to do it.

But since it is free and VERY small, you've got nothing to lose. (Try it on a fake folder tree before you use it on important folders.)
