On a slightly ironic note, I've just discovered what is likely the nicest comment I've ever seen. It was commented on my statement I posted during the last huge surge of artists' leaving renderosity.

The best thing to do with a troll is to ignore it. Someday it may get a life....or it'll just get bored and crawl back into its corner ;-)

Sorry to hear about that. This kinda thing sucks.
Just report it & let the PTB deal with it. The nice one is a Plus though.

Ok, ok, I'll email renderosity admin.

Let AS know and he can remove the flames from your gallery pics... Comments like those are so uncalled for. The piss ant doesn't have even 1 image in his gallery. So he has no right to be flaming anyone at all.

Now what Clone_X is doing is for me more than enough reason for ban, so don't get me wrong about that.

No gallery does not automatically mean that the poster is a troll as such, i don't have a gallery at the moment and i can be very hotheaded at times. Am i a troll, well there are times that at least some will regard me as one, but i would not resort to this kind of low level attacks.

No gallery does not suggest what someone might be.

I don't know about polite, but yes, a first warning to CloneX. Actually, another staffer hit the delete button on the comments right before I did, but I still contacted the member. But, on the other hand Andrew, if you have an actual photo, it should be under Photography, and if the Bryce render is just a photo on a flat plane, then it really should be under mixed media. Thanks once more! As to the photo, I took a pic into Bryce and fiddled with some texture channels on it, then bombarded the scene with radials, the final render was very different from the original. I then took that Bryce render and put a slight dialate filter on it in PSP. Would it belong in the Bryce or Mixed Medium gallery?

probably mixed medium I think, that's where I'd personally put it anyways

Ok, I'll edit the data and keep that in mind for the future.

You could look at it in one of two ways. The first way is that commiserations are in order cos someone trolled your gallery, or the second way is that of congratulations - after all, trolls are only found on good works (the jealousy thing). Don't let it bend you out of shape too bad. Most of us have had them at some stage.

playing devil's advocate for a sec; it is over the line that he did all this work (worst I ever got was about 3 pics), but the real goal of his was to get your attention. Unfortunately, he succeeded.
People like this can't differentiate between good and bad attention; they have attention-deficit syndrome (they think they're not getting enough attention..:| I think you certainly warrant getting the mods on it, but what he was really after was to torque you up. Don't let him call the shots. You know you're good; I know you're good, and that's good enough..take care..

can there not be a list of users using the same ip adress without actualy showing the ip so we can see how many acounts a troll has?

Sackrat, no trolls are worthy of death from my were-badgers, much less my were-skunks. That is an interesting summary, pakled. It seems that I've rewarded the fool's plea for attention, but I'll treat this kind of stuff with keener discretion in the future. It is, as Flak said, a stage that most endure.

Don't try to contact trolls. This is what they want. Report it to the Mods, and they'll take care of it. Sounds like MoonGoat did good. Thanks for watching out for us, AS!
