I know this probably doesn't call for a new thread of it's own, but since I'm so excited and I hardly ever post any more I figure you folks will forgive me.

Even though I pre-ordered the boxed version, my impatience got the best of me (again) and I went ahead and purchased the download version last night. (Yes I know, what an idiot)

But I must say, in the few short hours that I've had Poser 6, I am truly blown away. I've been using Poser since the very beginning and even though they've made some mistakes along the way, I've always been a big fan of the program.

And to me the Image Based Lighting (IBL) by itself is completely worth the price alone. I've never seen my figures look so good. I can't believe what a difference it makes! It reminds me of the renders that come out of Maya.

pzrite, 1) thanks for posting 2) what image did you use as the source for the lighting 3) do you any non-IBL lighting going on? 4) if, after you are fully stablizied with box version, you have NO need or desire for the second license, I would be glad to purchase it, as I need new seats for my render condo. ::::: Opera :::::

Operaguy:

  1. Your welcome
  2. I used one of the Poser supplied IBL images, called daylight or something like that. There's about 8 of them including indoor office, forest, sunset, etc.
  3. The original image I just had IBL lighting, but this revised version thats posted now, I added a infinite light as per Mec4d's suggestion and tutorial.
  4. sure, if it's kosher with the Curious Lab folks (ie. if it's legal) You can definitely have my second copy.
