Subject: Transparency

Is there a way to have a model transparent? Perhaps transparent is the wrong term, more glass like. My idea is to have a transparent model with objects contained within the body. Is this possible? Thanks

Yes it is. The course of action you would take to achieve it depends on which Poser version you are using, and how realistic you want it. Which version?

Tools :  3dsmax 2015, Daz Studio 4.6, PoserPro 2012, Blender v2.74

System: Pentium QuadCore i7, under Win 8, GeForce GTX 780 / 2GB GPU.

I have Poser 6. It does not have to look like actual glass (would be nice). However, transparent with the ablility to see the objects within. An example would be have a model with say a sphere within their head that is, say... red. Thanks

To get a more realistic glass look, use the refraction node instead. Be sure raytracing is on when you render.

here is a good tutorial on how to use refraction/reflection in Poser to achive some good results. It's for water but if you look at the magnifying glass tut it'll show you to use a 3 relfect and a 7 refract for glass. You can adjust the diffuse for color.
