Finally finished this last night. It's one of those that started out as one thing...and turned out *completely* different. :p Learned a lot on it, though, which is always good.

Modelled in Rhino and renderd in Bryce. No postwork. :) I think the final render time turned out to be around 4 or 5 hours...not sure, since the estimate is always broken for me and I rendered it overnight.

Thoughts? Ways to improve? Thanks!

Everything looks great except for the vase thingy. It has no shadow and the ambience is too high so it looks pasted on and like it's floating. Compositionally the necklace is well isolated but the position of the other objects (chair&clock) compete visually with the focal point. I suggest you try getting WAY closer to the jewel and let the scene be revealed in its reflection, that may or may not do something for you. Keep it up! -Madmax

if you really want to know, there's a check box to report render time in one of the render options..;) looks good to me..

Love your modeling. The table cloth looks really good. I think the one thing that stands out the most to be tinkered with is the wallpaper. Your main interest is the necklace, and it's magic... so perhaps a simpler, maybe a plain, wallpaper would help make the necklace and sparkles stand out.
