Been playing around with the function editor in Vue Infinite and have created some Metallic paints that change between various colours depending on your viewing angle and in some cases, the lighting angle. What do you think, but more importantly, would you be interested in them? I am not sure if they can be used in Vue5/Pro Studio as one of the mapping modes is using the angle of incidence / incidence of light. I also dont have any place to host them, so if you are interested and someone would be willing to host them so I can place them in free stuff, let me know:) I have never done this before, so some guidance would also be appreciated in how to go about this. Thanks for your time and input. Gareth / Belgareth:)

I think they look cool!!! Check out the file locker option that renderosity offers. It's not that expensive and gives you a place to store your files.

Base file locker is free - besides, cool colors!

So one car could be different colors? I wish I understood function stuff. It goes over my head. Looks cool though. We need brainy people like you ~G~

Looks nice. How big is the file?

Belgareth ( ) posted Thu, 31 March 2005 at 7:26 AM ยท edited Thu, 31 March 2005 at 7:26 AM

Most are 13-14kb except 1 which is 24kb and another that is 17kb. Each mat file i mean, not the set.

I have a paid site that I could probably slip it on for a couple of months (if no better offer comes along).

Thank you for your offer ChuckEvans:) Though it doesnt look like many people are interested. It was only a thought. I can email them to you if you feel you can use them. Just PM me your address if you are interested. Thanks once again for the offer:) Gareth

I did PM you an offer of space as well - looks like it didn't go through to you - I'll send another!

I think they're excellent. Wonder if there's a way to get the rainbow effect of a CD? Mother of pearl would be cool too!

"Mother of pearl would be cool too!" Funny, that's one of the things I've been planning to attempt this weekend since I saw the image at the top of the thread.

You mean somthing like this?

Looks good for the uses I have. It's surprising how often I've wanted mother of pearl for e.g. a guitar fretboard markings, white squares on a chess board and an antique inlaid table. Considering how little actual rendering I do, that's a lot of uses.
