Hi folks, I just uploaded this picture in the Mixed Medium gallery. I used Photoshop extensively. Not only for the compositing, but also for creating the displacement maps from pictures of a hem (?) getting skinned and some raw meat. The hair & blood was hand painted as was some of the fog. I masked and did a lot of alpha channeling (nothing paranormal about that, by the way) and also painted a lot of pixels with 1-pixel wide brushes. If somebody is interested I could show some of the maps or layers or babble about the hair or blood. Let me know if there is something that raises your eyebrow and I will see if I can elaborate on it or put those dark secrets (in 256 shades of grey) online. If you are not interested in feeding my narcistic egomania, just ignore this ;-) See http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=929637&Start=1&Sectionid=20&filter_genre_id=0&WhatsNew=Yes

I'm interested in some brief highlights but I wouldn't want you to go to a lot of trouble if I'm the only one asking. That Anything Grooves...never heard of it.

Anything Grooves is a plugin for Carrara, that can displace geometry based on the shades of grey. Kind of like modelling with Photoshop, a bit like using an alphachannel and lighting effects in Photoshop.

Ahhhh, so it's for Carrara. No wonder I have not heard of it. Modeling and me don't get along too well so I keep my distance wink.
