THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Unlocking the light from the sun/moon and looking for a pearl mat..

Two questions.. Is there away to set it so that the sun/moon placement does not alter how the light casts across the sean? I got one set up nice where it gives off a nice blue haze over everything.. but it only stays that way if the mood is at a sellect spot in the sky.. but I want it in this other location, but moving it there makes everything look bright almost like day time.. It's growing annoying :/ Also, does having know where I can find a white, and a gold pearl mat? I'd need one for this project I'm working on..

I think you may have to fake it. I mean make the sun/moon invisible and then add a sun/moon where you want it as an image. Can't be too far away because of shadows going in the wrong direction.

It sounds like you have "Link Sun to View" option selected. The default is always ON. Its an annoying feature, and I have yet to here of any experience Brycer wanting this feature ON.

try Wolfie's Den, and Pixel Wonder, for a boatload of mats. Lunariad.com, Sefi (if you can find it), and Freebies here should give you links to a few more sites.

Simply my feeling, switch off the sun/moon, use Zenith for lights and put a fake moon sphere, textured with the moon texture with generate shadows switched off.......

Are you using Haze? If you are, then bear in mind that as you move the position of the camera, say up or down, you are pointing it through different densities of haze, because it's more dense at the bottom than at the top. Maybe that's a contributing factor? Len.

Aye, turn the Sun off, if you want to have a cool sky setup stick. Use regular lights to light the scene. Turning the sun off doesn't affect where it shows up in the sky, though. ALl it does it determine whether the sun casts light or not. The sun is actually a light with falloff set to "None". Why they didn't add the Sun to the Light Lab is beyond me... (COREL!)

I've tried it with normal lights. But it don't give the same effect.. plus it slows rendering down to a complete stop. (yeah it wont pass one point and I even let it run all night) plus it don't give me the nice hue I got.. and no there isn't any fog or haze in it.. it's all nice and clear. But I'd really like the moon to be over to the right just a bit so it's in an arch. (and no I'm not moving the arch, it's ment to be centerd) but doing that, everything looks like it's DAY time! x.x
