Yes, but even the females don't look like queens! Most have no regalia, no entourage, and no posture. Calculating the fur for an ermine-trimmed robe would be a task for a hefty computer, OTOH, the wearer would look regal. Carolly

couldn't you 'fake' the fur using displacment and bump maps? There was a good link to a good pic on RDNA here that demistrated a nice looking wool. (the link was raving about the hair, but the wool sweater was equally impressive). Up close it could look a little wonky, but from a distance it should be passable.

Displacement would work for velvet and corduroy (literally "the body of the king"... the fabric was reserved for royalty), and for slick furs such as seal, however, most of the longer-haired furs would need either brushing out in post or to be strand-based. Carolly

good point C. I still think that you could get away with it at a distance, but I totally agree with you on anything relitivly close. It'd have to be strand based to even come close to looking good. A strand based kings outfit would be killer awesome though, lets fire up Deep Thought and get crackin' ;)

thixen hold that thought, someone out their if they put their minds to it could do a decent job of it,doesnt have to be exact.
