Subject: Crazy modelling question... and another one involving some thing and stuff

You have no idea what this message is about, do you? Anyway, I'll start with the thing and the thing. In the Market Place, there's a straight jacket for Vik, along with a padded room. I NEEEED that product, but I need it for Michael 3! So I was wondering if there's a way I could get Victoria's straight jacket to fit Michael 3, but still allow Mike to animate (mostly just his abdomen and chest)? And the crazy modelling question I have is actually more of a noob modelling question. In Poser 4, if I am to create a bunch of props to form a structure, how can I output this mess of props as one single Figure or Prop, instead of having to parent everything to eachother? That's it for now. So long!

To answer the first, probably not. Or rather, you may be able to get it to fit with a lot of blood, sweat, toil and tears. Probably easier to make one yourself. There's the Clothing Convertor from DAZ but I have no idea how well it works. I have a suspicion that a straitjacket may just be beyond it, though. OTOH, if M3 is mostly going to be hidden inside it, perhaps it wouldn't be too much of a problem to hide the chest and arms, and just parent the jacket to M3. Second question - export the whole of them as one OBJ. Even if they aren't physically touching, they will load and move together if you do that.

"OTOH, if M3 is mostly going to be hidden inside it, perhaps it wouldn't be too much of a problem to hide the chest and arms, and just parent the jacket to M3." Yeah, I usually do hide body parts that are hidden by clothes, but the only problem is I don't want M3 to have V3's body shape :-O I would email the creator(s) and request one for M3, but I noticed this product was uploaded over a year ago, so I doubt this person will want to create this simply from my request. "Second question - export the whole of them as one OBJ. Even if they aren't physically touching, they will load and move together if you do that. " If I do this, when I import the OBJ into Poser again, will parts still be separate so I can texture them individually (or rather, will they already be texture from when I export it)? Thanks for the reply.

After parenting the jacket to mike, you could use magnets to pull the shape of the jacket into something more like mikes shape. Then it could work.

in my experience with obj's (and this is just me) when i export and re import they are all still materialized..at least for me..not sure bout anyone else tho..hey hon..trial and error..doesnt hurt to try!! save a pz3 of the file also to make it easier to go back to it and change stuff if needed and wont ruin it :)

Cool, I give it a try. Thanks for the help!
