How do I activate preview modes Wireframe,Shaded,Textured, textured with wire frame overlay. Is there an icon somewhere or a dropdown menu. I wish to try the open gl preview stuff. I cant find these words in the interface "Shaded,Textured, textured with wire frame overlay or open gl. I thought it was an icon to the right of the main view but none of those have that text. I looks thru the 5.5 pdf manual but cant find where to activate this stuff. Please Help seems like I'm missing something simple here, it's making me crazy!

go over with the mouse to the display mode icon. and HOLD left button while on it. A sub menu should come up displaying the options. You might also wannna set ur GPU open gl section to performance rather than quality mode. it helps on large scenes. Al,

While we're on the subject of the Bryce 5.5 open gl, would you mind posting some screenshots of it? I use open gl mode all the time to position plants and terrains and stuff. Since I'm one of the (apparently very few) people who hasn't bought 5.5 yet I'd like to see what Daz has done :)

I would like to see it how it looks like with a lot of booleans, B5 makes a mess of that.

omac2 said "You might also wannna set ur GPU open gl section to performance rather than quality mode." I was wondering if that setting is accessed thru the card driver software or bryce or the OS?

My display is set to texture shaded.
Trees and negitive or intersect objects will not be texured.

haloedrain here is a screen shot.
Sorry Robert J
not lots of booleans but it might help. The wire frame shpere is set to neg and cuts into the other pos shpere, they are grouped so that if rendered it will cut into the pos sphere

And if you open a XP notepad window or any app window and drag it over the main bryce 5.5 view it erases it. Not to worry just minumize notepad window and view restores. HMMMM

Thanks so much for the screenshot! It's too bad they didn't make it so the negative actually cuts out the positive. What I was really hoping for was that they'd make the trees not be stick figures, looks like they didn't. Sigh Oh well, I can't actually afford 5.5 anyway right now, so it doesn't matter all that much. It is on my wish list for 6, though ;)
