cryptojoe - These were taken about a mile from my house. This is a local reservoir used as back up for the water supply. I live in East Central part of Mississippi. As far as Mangroves or not, I have not a clue. I am tree ignorant. Thanks!

Nice pic. Wouldn't say those were mangroves. Mangroves have a tangle of roots.
