Subject: A small tribute to the modeling skills of Anthony Appleyard.........

**Diver after midnight.

One that managed to elude the Sea Patrol.**

Mr. Appleyard's freestuff diver figure was set up and posed in P6, and then imported into Vue Infinite. Vue Infinite was used to create a "quickie" ocean environment, and to add an appropriate atmosphere.

The image was touched up a bit in Photoshop CS.

I can envision distinct possibilities for more sophisticated/elaborate scenes......when it isn't 2:45AM EST.

Hope that you like this one.

Thank you, Anthony Appleyard.

Without your modeling talents: such a simple render on my part wouldn't be possible.

Wow! Conveys a real sense of adventure and danger. Very cool Xeno and AA.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
Pee on it and walk away

Very cool. A great tribute to a unique and generous guy. I wonder how a P5 equivalent render would look. Hmmm, you got me thinking of something now. :)

I thought he was on a mission and was surfacing and checking the shoreline for enemy patrols.

XENOPHONZ ( ) posted Mon, 02 May 2005 at 11:12 AM

Thanks to all for the comments.......

:)

He's on a mission to anywhere that your imagination takes him.

Perhaps he's an American.......an ex-Navy SEAL UDT.

If anyone would have the skills to avoid the Sea Patrol, then it would be that bunch. Or "that lot", as our Brit friends would put it.........

........but why would he be swimming alone in UK territorial waters after midnight? On a quiet night with calm seas.......?

The image is meant to illustrate the utter solitude of his task.

Perhaps another image will alter his current state of affairs -- with the help of one of chrislenn's girls.

;)

Here's one of the first ones Anthony was distributing - one of a handful of comic-type things I made for a golf-ball diver harvesting a salt-water lake. :)

masha ( ) posted Tue, 03 May 2005 at 1:42 AM

Heh - just realized I'd forgotten his flippers. Thanks Anthony :)

XENOPHONZ ( ) posted Tue, 03 May 2005 at 11:01 AM

Yes -- he'll find it difficult to get away from that shark without any flippers. ;)

Re message (1), since he has a naval-type rebreather, perhaps the Sea Patrol knows about him already: "Sonar detected a diver: he's got an authorized ultrasound transponder: leave him.".
