Another tip for customizing your bryce: - If you safe a file as defailt.br5 in the bryce folder it will become the default scene.

In File->Document Setup just increase the document resolution. This will also change the render resolution but I'm sure you'll be able to find a resolution close to what you origianlly had since it is proportional to the document resolution.
